How we work

We take the guesswork out of giving.

We’ve carefully vetted and partnered with charities that create meaningful impact—often the ones doing incredible work without big budgets or visibility. Friendship Tree connects you directly with them, so you can give with confidence, knowing your donation goes where it truly matters.

Step 1 – We vet charities

You want to do good, not get buried in admin or doubt. We vet every charity before they join our platform, so you can give with confidence.

Step 2 – Discover and donate

Choose your cause. Set your amount. Make your impact. , no added fees. Every dollar goes directly to a vetted charity partner of your choice.

Step 3 – Simplified for everyone

We handle the admin behind the scenes. Less paperwork for charities, zero guesswork for you.

Step 4 – Stay connected

Donating shouldn’t be a mystery. We’ll keep you updated on the charities you support so you can see your impact come to life.

Step 5 – Growing impact, together

Every donation strengthens the system. Charities get seen, donors feel more connected to their impact, and communities receive the support they deserve.

FAQs

How do you choose which charities to feature?

We look for strong governance, transparency, and proven results — not just good intentions. Every partner goes through our suitability, due diligence, and risk checks before being listed.

How much of my donation reaches the charity?

At least 80% today, with a goal of 90% by mid-2026. The small fee we keep saves charities far more in outreach costs and ensures every dollar is handled securely.

Do charities pay to be listed?

No. Charities don’t pay to be on Friendship Tree. We’re funded by a small donor fee, so they can focus on their work — not marketing or overheads.

What makes Friendship Tree different?

We don’t compete with charities — we amplify them. Our platform helps donors discover trusted, underfunded organisations and give with complete clarity.

How we add value to charities

Find new donors

Connect with new, everyday givers who genuinely care about impact but may never have discovered your charity otherwise.

Amplify your story

Expose more people through storytelling through Friendship Tree’s social media, newsletters, blogs, and podcasts — helping the stories of work reach and inspire more people.

Instil confidence through transparency

By being recognised as a vetted, credible organisation with clear impact reporting, this strengthens donor confidence from day one.

Reduce your marketing overheads

We’ll do the expensive heavy lifting using our marketing know-how and our all-in-one app, so you can reduce your current spend on in-house fundraising, communications and reporting.

How we are measuring our impact

We aim to amplify and increase awareness of our partner charity’s work, helping them have greater impact by reaching new donors, improving donor retention, and increasing donations and volunteer numbers.

As a new organisation, our impact will start small and grow as we can demonstrate the collective action we support and measure our value to the community.

There are three measures that we are using to track our impact:
