We start by confirming your charity’s eligibility and alignment with our purpose and Impact Pillars:
We also confirm your registration with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) and review basic governance details such as your constitution, finances Annual Information Statements, and Board structure.
(We don’t partner with organisations closely associated with industries such as fossil fuels, weapons, gambling, tobacco, alcohol, adult entertainment, or fast fashion.)
Next, our team conducts a background and due diligence review to ensure we have a full picture of your organisation.

If anything requires clarification, we’ll reach out to you directly — this stage is about transparency and collaboration, not catching you out.
Our team reviews findings, focusing on red flags and risks. We use a risk matrix to assess likelihood and impact using Friendship Tree’s risk appetite statement. This ensures that any potential risks are clearly understood and mitigated before we move forward.
Once complete, eligible charities are formally invited to join Friendship Tree as an assessed partner.
