Australia has almost 63,000 registered charities, and 60% of them are small. Between them they receive just 8.6% of all donations and bequests. Most sit outside the government funding system too, so donations are their main source of income.
What has been missing is a straightforward way to discover and fund them with confidence. Completing the governance, financial and reputational checks in-house takes significant resource, which is why recognised names have historically been the easier choice.

There are thousands of organisations working on the ground in Australia, and many of them are ready for the kind of support a business can provide.
What has been missing is a straightforward way to discover and fund them with confidence. I know this because I went looking. Information was buried, trust was assumed, and impact was hard to quantify. Doing that work properly in-house takes resource most businesses cannot spare, so recognised names win by default.
So we built Friendship Tree. Organisations get the visibility and funding they have earned. Businesses get a giving program with rigour behind it and a story worth telling. And the people doing the work on the ground get backed.
